eCourse Frequently Asked Questions/FAQs
1. How long is this course?
This is a 7 week course beginning on the week of January 9th, 2016 and ending on February 29th, 2016.
2. How much time will this course take?
You can plan on spending a minimum of 3 hours per week to listen to the audio/video Teachings, review the PDFs, do the Guided Journaling Questions, and interact in the Circle Space. The weeks where we are doing a Process may require additional time as will some of the Thursday Tidbits. Likewise, the Live Q & A VideoChats are an additional 90 minutes. You may also choose to do the entire course at your own pace and schedule.
3. How will I access the course materials?
You will receive a Tuesday Teachings email containing audio or video teachings and PDF links. You will also receive a Thursday Tidbits email where I will be sharing links to more multi-sensorial (see, hear, smell, etc), multi-dimensional (body, mind, heart and spirit) resources which I’ve found helpful. For the Live Q&A VideoChats, you will receive a Zoom invitation with a link and code. This will require an internet connection so you can launch the Zoom application. You will also be invited to join a private Circle Space community through Google+. You will need to create a free account if you don't already have one. More detailed instructions can be found in your welcome packet.
4. How do the Live Q & A VideoChats work?
As mentioned above, the VideoChats will occur through Zoom Videoconferencing. You will launch the application ahead of time so you can use the link or code to join the meeting. Maria will appear live on camera, answering questions received prior through the Google+ Live Q&A thread in our Circle Space community. Participants will appear on the Chat. You can use the Chat to introduce yourselves, clarify questions, ask follow-up questions, share your experiences, etc. The VideoChats will take place after Week Three and Week Five (dates and times to follow). Both the video and the chat will be recorded. You will receive the recordings by email that week.
5. Can I get a refund after I register?
In consideration of unexpected things happening, as well as the need to protect this eSpace and eCourse materials, refunds are honored under the following conditions:
For facilitated eCourses, refund requests received up to 7 days prior to the eCourse start date will be honored. After that time, no refunds will be given. For self-paced eCourses, refund requests received prior to receiving any eCourse materials will be honored. There are no refunds once material has been sent. Please do not request your refund through PayPal. All refund requests can be sent directly to [email protected]. Thank you!
6. Will CEUs (Continuing Education Units) be offered to Mental Health Professionals?
A Certificate of Attendance will be available for purchase, indicating that you have earned 13.5 contact hours for participation in this eCourse. Our understanding is that this can be submitted for CEU approval by your governing agency if required. This "Break the Toxic Shame Cycle" course has been taught under CEU sponsorship multiple times, meeting those requirements. Although there's no way to guarantee that all governing agencies will provide approval, previous eCourse participants who've applied thus far, have been approved. Additional information (e.g., Course Description, Course Objectives and Teacher Bio) can be provided upon purchase of the Certificate. In addition, a Cour de Grace Certification Program for helping professionals (e.g., psychotherapists, coaches, spiritual directors) is being planned. Attendance in any Cour de Grace offering will serve as credit towards that Certification.

7. Good things are happening for me. Is this course right for me?
Here are some things for you to consider:
- This course is also for those seeking to serve. The templates provided throughout the course (the Toxic Shame Cycle, the 3 Categories of Toxic Shame Avoidance Strategies, the Healthy Sense of Self and Other framework, the Sequencing an Incident, etc) have served to be effective in not only facilitating a profound paradigm shift for healthier, happier living but also for becoming even more of a powerful influence with the people and the systems in your life. The concepts, diagrams, charts, and processes provide ways of concretizing what you already know, so you can convey it to others even more clearly. It's quite something to imagine the impact on the world at large, the more of us who are making this shift, breaking our toxic shame cycles, and then helping others do the same.
- One of the main discoveries I made through this model, was how pervasive Toxic Shame really is. I had originally heard of the term through John Bradshaw's groundbreaking work in the addiction field, with more of a focus on severely dysfunctional family systems. What I found was that we all seem to struggle with toxic shame cycles to some degree or another. Even a seemingly minor avoidance strategy (e.g., raising our eyebrows when we speak), can have significant consequences. Just the energy depleted by these cycles, can impede us having a more realized life.
- Part of the Cour de Grace mission is to inspire even more ambassadors of these pieces of higher wisdom. We would love to have you join with us with your unique passion and compassion.
